At HiCal, we believe that every firearm has a story to tell; whether it’s grandad’s single shot .22, or chassis clad ultra-precision thousand-metre rifle. 

Our mission is to give your firearms the love and care they deserve, with state-of-the-art techniques and attention to detail. 

First opening in 2022 in Broadford, Victoria, the workshop was relocated to Brisbane, Queensland in 2024. Ed spent his teenage years as a carpenters labourer, as well as understudying a local gunsmith (primarily dealing wth milsurp rifles). He spent 17 years in the Australian Army, with a large portion of that time as an Instructor Gunnery – a specialist in firearms training spanning from machine guns to turret mounted auto-cannons and computerised firepower systems.

While posted to the prestigious Gunnery Wing, School of Armour, he received awards such as Instructor of the year and a Bronze Commendation – to go with previous awards throughout his career.  

Equipped with a slew of manual machine tools, hand tools, a ‘can do’ attitude and an eye for detail, your firearms are in safe hands with HiCal Firearms and Ordnance.
